Saturday 8th October!
Morning JOYSTICKERS! www.joystickclub.co.uk A really good day for the JSC yesterday as we were heavily involved in the LAA 's 70th celebrations at Turweston. About 50 teenagers from Wolverhampton to Woolwich were invited to meet both the Airfield and LAA leaders and to have a look at aircraft with their pilots, who had braved inclement weather to come to the airfield. John Baker, Ian MacKinnon, David Oswald and I took along the Tomahawk and a new idea, a Pedal Plane in bolt together kit form. David had the wood prepared from an unused Pietenpol Air Camper project and with Steve Elkins welding skills we put together the kit (still not fully completed)just in time for the day. After several builds both teenagers and ourselves found the best way to put together the aeroplane and it was the last group, Air Cadets from Woolwich who did the quickest build in 15minutes...then of course it had to be taken apart again! This new project seems ideal to take to schools and events. To complete the day our "Music from the Movies" evening proved one of the best yet. Gill Gray who runs "Leading Lights Productions" brought 2 great performers . Tricia Adele-Turner and Gavin James Burke who sang and entertained us with a very extensive repertoire, and we all got up to Abba etc! A complete success and no ambulances we're required! Next dinner dance 10th Dec. when it will focus on Motown and Soul, prize for the best outfit with a bow tie , well it's party season! Chug a lug M Off to rummage for the last Raspberry!
