Scouts May 2016, High Flying Jazz Final

Good evening JOYSTICKERS!

18 scouts from Birmingham and Eastcote camped at our Airfield this weekend with good weather and lots of flying.

Alan Hoskins welcomed them and Graham Perry astounded them with tales of bathroom doors and grass mower blades!

On Saturday morning they experienced flying with..

Europa HY flown by messrs Crawford, Lewis and Rowlands,

Cessna VL with pilots Ian MacKinnon, Pete Clough and Stuart Angel

RV6A with John Michie ,

Technam Sierra of Colin Burgess

Robin DR40 piloted by John Davey, flown from Biggin Hill especially.

Not least Mark Green flew a WLAC aircraft, all combined to take them all aloft at least once and some of their leaders too.

David Oswald did sterling service logging the flights while John Baker sorted the Tomahawk sim ready for the scouts later.

Steve Midson occupied them during non flying times with his superb model building and flying, with instruction of various aspects of flying to win them their Air Activities Badge stage 5 today.

There are bottles of wine for all from the scouts as a big thankyou for everthing you all did to make a great weekend .

We’re at Middle Wallop tomorrow for their Army Air Corps Museum event with the JSC Kit.

Next Saturday our Jazz evening starts at 1830 , casual but “cool” dress and a pdf poster is attached.

Have a great week
